چکیده

OBJECTIVE: to determine the more effective dose of intramuscular (IM) Phenylephrine in preventing hypotension due spinal anesthesia (SA) administered for cesarean section. METHODS: The study was conducted from January1, 2020 July 31, 2020, at Rehman Medical Institute, Peshawar, Pakistan. Sixty participants American Society Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status 1 and 2, scheduled elective section (CS) under SA were enrolled this prospective double-blind randomized into two equal groups, P4-group P8-group. received IM 04 mg P8-group 08 before SA. incidence intensity hypotension, rescue doses any adverse event, recorded. Data collected analyzed using Epi lnfo ™ version 7.2.5. RESULTS: Mean age patients P4-Group P8-Group 28.10±4.39 years 28.33±4.95 respectively. There no statistically significant differences groups with respect demographic clinical characteristics. Hypotension occurred 33.3% (n=20/60) participants. 46.7% (n=14/30) 20% (n=6/30) In P8-group, risk 1.5 times less common compared 95% confidence interval 1.02–2.19 (p=0.02). also difference between onset groups. Those who developed had consumed a lesser amount (p-value <0.01). CONCLUSION: preemptively controls induced sustained way fit

Analgesic Efficacy of Intravenous Lidocaine Infusion in Cesarean Section under Spinal Anesthesia: A Prospective Randomized Double-Blind Study

Background & Objective: Nowadays, conventional analgesic agents that are usually used for pain killing after cesarean sections do not provide enough analgesia with infrequent serious side effects. Lidocaine has been suggested as an adjuvant analgesic agent for postoperative pain relief. We designed this randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the analgesic efficacy of intr...

Comparison of prophylactic bolus norepinephrine and phenylephrine on hypotension during spinal anesthesia for cesarean section

Background and objective: Phenylephrine is the first-line choice for prevention and treatment of hypotension during spinal anesthesia for cesarean section. However, the serious bradycardia caused by phenylephrine is a concern. This study compared the effects of prophylactic bolus norepinephrine and phenylephrine on hypotension during spinal anesthesia for cesarean section. Methods: A total of 1...
